Sabatia Technical and Vocational College is a public TVET institution registered under the TVET Act of 2013. The College is domiciled in Kenya and currently does not operate any other outside campus. The college operates under the ambit of the Ministry of Education, State Department for Technical Vocational Education and Training. It is born out of the Governments initiative to construct at least one TVET College in every constituency. Its mandate and operational legal framework is derived from the TVET Act of 2013. The college’s mandate includes provision of Technical and Vocational Education and Training leading to awards below the level of a degree. The College currently operates under five main departments namely, Liberal and Business Studies, Engineering, Computing and Informatics, Applied Sciences and Hospitality and Institutional Management. The college stands on a five (5) acre piece of land. The process of transferring title is ongoing. It’s located in Sabatia Constituency, Sabatia Sub-county of Vihiga County. The institution was constructed on land annexed from Lotego Primary School and Lotego Vocational Training Center. The institution is equipped with state-of-the-art training equipment for Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In addition, the college was also earmarked as a centre of excellence in training of Computer Studies/ICT courses. The Institution has partnered with the local community to ensure students get meals and are accommodated in decent hostels Principal Activities The principal activity/mission of the college is to provide high quality Technical Vocational Education and Training, research and innovation in partnership with industry and other stakeholders in order to produce globally competitive graduates. The college envisions to be the best in the western region and eventually in the country.
